After 18 weeks and nearly 1,000 hours of intense training, 30 firefighter trainees have earned the right to wear the badge as San Bernardino County Fire’s newest firefighters. Known as Tower 18, this recruit class chose “Igniting a Legacy” as their motto. The phrase reflects their commitment to carry forward the proud traditions of the fire service while forging their own path in the field. These graduates began answering the call on June 28, 2024 by delivering fire suppression, rescue and EMS services to communities across the county.
During their graduation ceremony, they were reminded that firefighting is not simply a job but a calling rooted in integrity, compassion, professionalism and service. When someone dials 911, there is no pause or hesitation. Firefighters show up ready, even when the work is exhausting and the stakes are high. As they join the front lines, these new members of the County Fire family step into a lifelong commitment not only to public safety but to one another. Welcome Tower 18. Your legacy begins now.
