Summary:

Last night San Bernardino County Fire crews were dispatched to a reported residential structure fire in the area of Santa Ana Ave & Almond Ave, Fontana. 911 callers stated smoke from a nearby home.

ME74 quickly arrived to find an exterior fire that had spread to the attic space of the home. Arriving firefighters initiated a fire attack, working to knock down the exterior fire & limit spread through the attic space.

Firefighters worked inside to complete searches of the home for potential victims and perform firefighting. All searches of the home came up negative. Ultimately the fire was invoked down within 30 of arrival. The home, vacant and boarded up at the time of the fire, received heavy damage to the attic space. No injuries to personnel or citizens were reported. The fires cause and origin is under investigation by #SBCoFD Investigators.

San Bernardino County Fire responded with four Engines, a Truck Company, a Medic Squad, Battalion Chief and a Fire Investigator. While crews were committed other SBCOFd “move-up” companies were moved in to provide uninterrupted Fire/EMS coverage to the City of Fontana.
