Paid-call firefighters are trained professionals who are equipped with a pager or phone and are locally available to promptly report to their community fire station, staff an apparatus, and respond to emergency incidents. They serve alongside full-time firefighters and provide critical support during emergencies such as fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and natural disasters. Paid-call firefighters receive compensation for their on-call service and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of their communities.
