San Bernardino County Fire Department (SBCoFD) along with 1 engine from Rialto Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a Structure Fire in the 17100 blk. of Miller Ave. in the City of Fontana.

At 4:00 p.m. on March 26, 2021, San Bernardino County Fire Department (SBCoFD) along with 1 engine from Rialto Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a Structure Fire in the 17100 blk. of Miller Ave. in the City of Fontana.

ME71 arrived on scene to find an exterior fire extending into the second story of a garage with residence above.

The fire consumed an exterior portion of the second floor over a car port as well as charring much of the second-floor dwelling.

Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and took an offensive approach. Firefighters made an aggressive attack to hold the fire to the second floor of the structure. All occupants and animals were able to vacate the structure. Confirmed by both primary and secondary searches.

Fire was under control within 30 minutes. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.

SBCoFD responded 1 Battalion Chief, 3 Engines, 1 Truck and 1 Medic Squad. Rialto fire assisted with 1 Medic Engine. Fontana Police Department assisted with traffic control.
