Summary:
Yesterday afternoon San Bernardino County Fire crews were dispatched to the 4000 block of University Parkway, San Bernardino. 911 callers stated a vehicle on fire inside a gas station’s car wash.
Arriving firefighters found heavy smoke and fire conditions showing from an automatic type car wash. Crews initiated a fire attack, finding one vehicle on fire inside the car wash. Firefighters worked in heavy wind conditions to suppress the vehicle fire & limit spread to the car wash & adjacent gas station. Within 20 minutes of arrival the fire was knocked down. The car wash received major interior damage however the majority of the structure was saved. The gas station & adjacent vegetation was also saved. The fires cause remains under investigation. No injuries to firefighters or citizens were reported.
San Bernardino County Fire responded with four Engines, a Truck Company, Battalion Chief & a Fire Investigator.
