Summary:

This morning San Bernardino Fire crews were dispatched to a reported residential fire in the 100 block of East 11th Street, San Bernardino. Multiple callers stated a home on fire with someone potentially trapped.

Firefighters quickly arrived to find a single story home well involved in fire. An RV and an apartment complex were also immediately threatened by the fire. Crews simultaneously worked on a fire attack, search of the home and protected nearby exposures. Additional personnel and an ambulance was requested.

Firefighters successfully protected the apartment complex, saving multiple occupancies. One nearby RV was destroyed by the fire. The fire was knocked down within 30 minutes of arrival. Thankfully all searches of the home came up negative.

One home sustained heavy damage & is uninhabitable. Red Cross was requested to assist six displaced occupants. One firefighter sustained minor burns and was treated at a local burn center. One civilian sustained smoke inhalation and was treated on-scene, but declined treatment.

San Bernardino County Fire responded with seven Engines, a Truck Company, two Chief Officers and a Fire Investigator.
