Just after 01:00 this morning, San Bernardino County Fire responded to multiple reports of a commercial structure fire at 4400 North Varsity Avenue in the city of San Bernardino. Callers along the 215-freeway reported smoke coming from the roof of a large nearby building.

Firefighters arrived at the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry to discover fire already through a section of roof of the large single-story structure. The fire was knocked down in just over one hour. No occupants were in the building at the time of the blaze.

9 engines, 3 truck companies, 2 chief officers and an investigator totaling 42 personnel were assigned to the incident. Rialto Fire Department provided assistance with an engine company. There were no injuries reported.

Damage reports are still being compiled as of the time of this release, and the cause of the fire is under investigation through County Fire’s Office of the Fire Marshal.
