Incident: Residential Structure Fire 21-031322

Summary: Shortly before 10 am this morning, San Bernardino County Fire responded to multiple reports of a structure fire in the City of Hesperia. Medic Truck 304 arrived shortly after dispatch to find a single story home with an attached garage well involved with fire. Moderate wind conditions initially contributed to fire growth and spread. Hose lines were deployed to initiate fire attack as the initial captain made contact with the occupants who stated all subjects had evacuated the home. Multiple dogs were stated to be inside the home still. As additional units arrived sufficient personnel were put in place to move into the structure to continue fire attack and conduct a primary search to confirm no additional people were in the home. Several dogs were found in the living space, they were secured with owners. A primary and secondary search was all clear in the house. The crew from truck 304 went to the roof to coordinate with firefighters interior during fire attack.

Crews were successful in containing the fire to the area of origin with no smoke or fire damage sustained to the living space. Knockdown of the fire was achieved in approximately 25 minutes. Due to resource commitments on the incident cover engines were brought up to maintain service. Multiple dogs were secured with the occupants, pictured are Bullet, Rue, and Bully. All were happy and healthy.

No injuries to firefighters were reported or civilians. Three engines, one truck company, one chief officer, one medic ambulance, and one investigator, totaling 16 personnel from County Fire were assigned to the incident. Victorville City assisted with two engines. The cause remains under investigation by the office of the Fire Marshal.
