Summary:
Yesterday evening San Bernardino County Fire crews were dispatched to a reported traffic collision involving a motorcycle. 911 callers stated a motorcyclist had crash and the rider had fallen approximately 100’ into a canyon below.
A full rescue response was dispatched. Firefighters arrived on scene to find one adult male down approximately 100 feet. Firefighter-Paramedics descended to the patient and started advanced life support care on the rider, who had significant injuries. Due to the terrain and critical injuries a Sheriff Helicopter was requested to hoist the patient and then transport the patient.
San Bernardino Sheriff Air Rescue 306 arrived and inserted to SBCoFD fire personnel to package and prepare a hoist. Once packaged the patient and SBCoFD firefighters were hoisted to the helicopter & transported to a regional trauma center.
San Bernardino County Fire responded with three Engines, a Heavy Rescue, Battalion Chief & Medic Ambulance.
