SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA – Firefighters Contain Hesperia Structure Fire

San Bernardino County Fire crews worked to keep an attic fire from consuming a house late Friday in Hesperia.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., #SBCoFD companies arrived at a home on Lemon Street and reported smoke and flames visible. Engine crews quickly made entry with hose lines while the truck company worked to ventilate the structure and also fight fire with hoses on the roof.

During operations a section of the roof partially collapsed, requiring crews to exit the structure and work from the outside before resuming offensive operations.

The fire was declared under control at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Four adults, all of whom evacuated prior to the arrival of fire crews, were displaced. One female occupant reported a minor injury and was evaluated on scene by County Fire paramedics. A dog was safely evacuated as well.

The Red Cross was called to assist.

A total of 30 personnel responded, including six engine companies, one truck company, two battalion chiefs, a fire investigator, as well as an ambulance, paramedic squad and information officer. This includes an engine crew each from cooperating agencies
