San Bernardino, CA — On April 27, 2025, the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District responded to a residential structure fire on the 900 block of W. Olive Street. The blaze damaged two homes, resulting in an estimated $800,000 in property loss.
Fire crews were dispatched after reports of flames and heavy smoke in the area at 12:27 p.m. The response included four engine companies, two truck companies, one medic squad, one battalion chief, a public information officer, and a fire investigator.
Upon arrival, crews encountered downed powerlines lying across the front yard of the affected properties. The live lines presented a serious hazard and were believed to have the potential to energize a metal fence surrounding the homes. These dangerous conditions forced firefighters to modify their initial attack strategies to ensure the safety of both personnel and nearby residents.
Despite these challenges, firefighters worked quickly to contain the blaze. The fire was brought under control without any reported injuries to residents or emergency personnel. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by County Fire’s Office of the Fire Marshal.
