Law enforcement officers participate in an active shooter training drill outdoors under clear blue skies. One officer in tactical gear aims a rifle while another uses a battering ram to breach a heavy metal training door mounted on a red brick wall. A third individual in casual attire observes nearby. The setting includes various buildings and training structures, indicating a specialized training facility.

This week crews from Battalion 1, which serve the City of Upland and the community of San Antonio Heights, participated in an active shooter drill with the Upland Police Department. provided their swat paramedics to help facilitate the training.

Active shooter training for fire and police personnel is critical to ensuring a coordinated and effective response during active shooter incidents.

The training typically emphasizes teamwork, safety, communication, and rapid casualty care.

We would like to thank the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District for letting us use their training facility, the Upland Cert Team, the Fontana and Upland Fire Explorer Post 955 for participating as victims and helping us create a realistic scenario.
