Mission Statement

About OES

Under the direction of the County’s Director of Emergency Services, the Office of Emergency Services (OES) strives to prevent, protect from, mitigate against, prepare for, respond to and recover from the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to San Bernardino County. The OES has lead these efforts during natural disasters such as earthquakes, fires, floods, public health emergencies as well as man-made incidents involving large-scale/extended power outages, civil unrest and terrorism.

The OES prepares and implements numerous countywide Emergency Plans, provides a myriad of training opportunities to fellow responders and community members, conducts simple and complex drills and exercises to ensure the preparedness of the County.

The OES provides technical assistance to all County Departments, twenty-four Cities/Towns, unincorporated County communities and non-government organizations to prepare for disasters and serves as a liaison to facilitate coordination with State and Federal partners.

About the San Bernardino County
Emergency Operations Center (EOC)

An Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is a central location from which governments can provide interagency coordination and executive decision making in support of incident response and recovery operations. The purpose is to provide a centralized location where public safety, emergency response, and support agencies coordinate planning, preparedness, and response activities.

There are multiple trained EOC Responders to help staff the EOC 24 hours a day as well as OES staff. The partners come from local, state and federal agencies and others representing law, fire, public works, medical, utilities and agencies that are and could be needed.

Web EOC

WebEOC has been designated as the County’s disaster communication platform during activation of the Emergency Operations Center. WebEOC is the method for County Departments and all emergency responders countywide to report, exchange and view information on major incidents occurring countywide.
