During #NationalPublicSafetyTelecommunicatorsWeek, #SBCoFD recognizes and thanks the dispatchers who offer calm, expert guidance during some of life’s most intense and urgent moments.
In one unforgettable call, CONFIRE Dispatcher Jessica Trice helped a mother and father deliver their baby at home. With the daughter in labor and the baby arriving quickly, every moment mattered. The dispatcher calmly assessed the situation, gave step by step instructions, and encouraged the parents as they safely delivered their child before paramedics arrived.
From identifying the baby’s head to coaching the dad through catching the newborn and making sure the baby took her first breath, Jessica stayed on the line, steady and focused, until help arrived.
Thanks to her quick thinking and steady presence, a healthy baby girl was born at
3:23 PM.
To all the voices like Jessica on the other end of the line, thank you for being the calm in the chaos and the guiding support when people need it most.
