This morning San Bernardino County Fire crews were dispatched to a reported commercial fire in the 1400 block of East Highland Ave in San Bernardino. Multiple 911 callers stated smoke from a vacant commercial restaurant.
Engine & Squad 226 quickly arrived to find moderate to heavy smoke from a vacant two-story restaurant. Crews encountered forcible entry issues and heavy smoke conditions while completing an interior push. Truck crews on the roof performed vertical ventilation to assist with smoke removal & to increase the survivable profile in the structure. The fire was knocked down in approximately 30 minutes. All searches of the structure came up negative.
The vacant commercial restaurant, formerly the “Gourmet Dinner House” sustained heavy damage. The fire’s cause and origin is under investigation by #SBCoFD fire investigators. San Bernardino County Fire responded with 6 Engines, 2 Trucks, a Squad, 2 Battalion Chiefs and a Fire Investigator.
