Summary:

This morning San Bernardino County Fire crews were dispatched to a reported commercial fire in the area of South Waterman & East Mill St, San Bernardino. Multiple 911 callers stated smoke and fire from a building.

Firefighters quickly arrived on-scene to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the medium sized, single story commercial occupancy. Crews initiated a transitional fire attack, working to knock back the fire. Despite their firefighters best efforts, the fire continued to grow. Crews worked from a defensive posture utilizing large volumes of water to suppress the fire and keep the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings. Ultimately the fire was knocked down in 60 minutes. The building, vacant at the time of the fire was heavily damaged. A SBCoFD Fire Investigator was requested to complete a cause & origin investigation. The fire remains under investigation.

San Bernardino County Fire responded with five Engines, two Trucks, a Battalion Chief and a Fire Investigator.
