San Bernardino County OES Mission Statement
Through leadership and guidance, strengthen countywide emergency management capabilities to ensure the protection of life and property before, during and after disasters.
THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES WORKS TO ENSURE THAT SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY IS PREPARED TO RESPOND TO EMERGENCIES, RECOVER FROM THEM, AND MITIGATE AGAINST THEIR IMPACTS…
- Under the direction of the County’s Director of Emergency Services, the Office of Emergency Services (OES) strives to prevent, protect from, mitigate against, prepare for, respond to and recover from the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to San Bernardino County. The OES has lead these efforts during natural disasters such as earthquakes, fires, floods, public health emergencies as well as man-made incidents involving large-scale/extended power outages, civil unrest and terrorism.
- The OES prepares and implements numerous countywide Emergency Plans, provides a myriad of training opportunities to fellow responders and community members, conducts simple and complex drills and exercises to ensure the preparedness of the County.
- The OES provides technical assistance to all County Departments, twenty-four Cities/Towns, unincorporated County communities and non-government organizations to prepare for disasters and serves as a liaison to facilitate coordination with State and Federal partners.
