Firefighters Rescue Driver from 30' Embankment
Around 8:20 a.m. on February 2, an SUV veered off the top of the switchbacks on Hwy. 138 near the railroad tracks, east of I-15, coming to rest about 30' down the side of an embankment. BNSF police and some citizens were first on scene. It took 13 members from the San Bernardino County Fire Department about 30 minutes to rescue the driver and bring her to safety. The victim was taken to a local High Desert hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
